| CIA Spied on Its US Investigators Posted: 25 Mar 2014 02:12 PM PDT CIA Spied on Its US Investigators Aside from spying on foreign politicians, it looks like the CIA was also snooping on members of the Senate Intelligence Committee who had been sent to investigate its own antics. As a result, the Committee Chairman Dianne Feinstein became furious and accused the CIA of breaking laws and breaching constitutional principles. She claimed the CIA undermined her multi-year investigation of a controversial torture program.  Dianne Feinstein claimed that the agency secretly removed documents, searched PCs used by the committee and tried to intimidate congressional investigators by forcing the FBI to arrest them.All this is happening after the Senate Intelligence Committee nears completion of a 6,000-page report expected to become a scathing historical record of the CIA use of waterboarding and other brutal interrogation methods on terrorism suspects after the 9/11. Dianne Feinstein promised to soon deliver the report to the White House and push for declassification of a document which would lay bare the horrible details of the CIA program. In the meantime, the agency and the Committee are at odds over the conclusions about the effectiveness of the program and the way the investigation was handled. So, the CIA set up a secret facility with computers where Committee investigators were offered unhampered access to operational cables, executive memos and other data on the interrogation program.But there was a row over whether CIA or Committee sabotaged the latter's efforts from the outset, loading a massive amount of files on PCs with no index, structure or ability to search. It took years for investigators to pore over 6.2 million classified records furnished by the CIA, but the agency suddenly claimed the Committee somehow gained access to data that the CIA never intended to share – in other words, they managed to hack the CIA. In response, the Committee was careful not to say precisely how those documents were obtained – by the CIA or by a whistle-blower. As a result, the CIA seems very upset that its plan to hamper the investigation by dumping lots of paperwork on the Committee failed thank to some whistle-blower,who simply revealed important information. So, the CIA referred the matter to the Department of Justice and accused the Committee of spying on the US. Surveillance is all around. |

Low Pull Clothes / Suit: Normal Clothes Description: We spent the day at Mineral Bottom, had two great jumps from Mari's Gash, the wind picked up, we packed and thought we had the time to look for another exit point, he wanted me to jump Sweet Spot as I'm not experienced jumper and it's massively overhung with a great landing area. We looked for a while but couldn't find it, we found Enterprise and we decided to jump this instead. I guess he was worried about me so he went off for a walk while I was waiting with our friend Evgeni at the exit point. We saw him on another fin, he was screaming that he found it. He came to get us and I walk, run, hand in hand with him to the exit point... We were stoked, Sweet Spot is a Sweet Spot... He asked Evgeni to go first so I'm not the first to jump and he could be with me when I exit. He checked everything was good and I went. He had planned a double gainer, as his friend Daniel Moore, who passed a few month ago, had done his first double from this exit. He was scared, he was shaking. Evgeni and I waited a long time for him to jump, he kept going back and fourth, turning his camera on and off, screeming "fuck!" a few times. Finally he went, he completed his first rotation but stalled the second, by the time he was back belly to earth he said "Oh shit!", pulled, I heard the loud sound of impact. The canopy was out but the lines still stowed. People should take a lesson from this and remember two rules: If you don't feel, don't do it. And whatever your body position is pull, motherfucker, pull. He was the best prototype of human. Genuinely stoked about life... Always ready to help without excepting anything in return... Low pull Clothes / Suit: Normal Clothes Description: Ash and I decided to a 2 way exit with him on the left and me on the right. His plan was to start a track and then roll over onto his back facing back up towards me, then roll back over to his belly and at this point he'd track left and I'd track right for deployment. We left the tower at the same time straight into a track... his angle was slightly steeper than mine so he dropped below me. He rolled over onto his back and then back again onto his belly. At this stage he was still a bit too under me so I tracked hard away as I didn't want to be above him when he deployed. I deployed. He continued to track for too long, deploying right before impact. He had lines and canopy out but no inflation. It took me a few minutes to get down and over to him. He was killed instantly. After we reviewed his footage we can only come up with the speculation that he has either lost altitude awareness or become fixated on an object as this is where he came to rest next to the only tree in the paddock. I've jumped with Ash a bit over the Christmas period and we had just become good mates. He was a talented guy and Im so sad and sorry that we have lost another amazing human. My thoughts and condolences go out to Ash's family and close friends through this very tough time. bfl-footer footer BFL |
