Ce wingsuiter américain a frôlé la mort samedi dernier à Chamonix (Haute-Savoie). Le sportif expérimenté âgé de 30 ans s'est élancé du haut de l'Aiguille du Midi mais a perdu le contrôle de sa trajectoire en plein vol. Il s'est écrasé dans une forêt à plus de 140 km/h, faisant une terrible chute. Le militaire a passé plus de trois heures seul dans la montagne avant d'être secouru par des promeneurs. Victime d'un traumatisme crânien et de plusieurs fractures, il a survécu par miracle à son spectaculaire accident. «Je pensais avoir assez d'expérience et de préparation pour réaliser ce vol, mais je me suis menti à moi-même », a regretté Eric Dossantos.La ville de Chamonix a décidé d'interdire pendant 6 mois la pratique du wingsuit par mesure de précaution. Cinq accidents mortels ont en effet déjà eu lieu cette année.
